Why The Hand Therapy Co?
We provide comprehensive, individualised assessment and treatment for all upper limb conditions, including hand, wrist and upper limb.
Whether your condition is recent or long-standing, our expert team is focused on restoring function and improving your quality of life. Upper limb conditions can result in pain, stiffness, swelling, or joint deformity, impacting your ability to work, participate in sport, or manage daily tasks.
Our services include thorough assessment, tailored management advice, personalised exercise programs, and custom-made splints or supports where required.
We work closely with surgeons in the Southern Highlands, Goulburn, Canberra, Sydney, Wollongong, and surrounding areas. Where appropriate, we may recommend imaging or referral to a Hand Surgeon for further assessment and expert opinion.
We also liaise with your GP and insurer to ensure coordinated, seamless care. This collaborative approach allows us to deliver the best possible outcomes through evidence-based treatment and specialist expertise.

Jarred or Sprained Finger
(Finger Injury)
A finger can be jarred or sprained during sport, a fall or everyday activities. This is common in ball sports, where a hyperextension force can push the finger beyond its normal range. A jarred finger can be more serious than it initially appears, so early assessment can be important.

Painful Thumb & Wrist
(De Quervain’s Tenosynovitis / “Mummy’s Thumb”)
Pain on the thumb side of the wrist can make gripping, lifting, opening jars and everyday activities uncomfortable. De Quervain’s tenosynovitis is often called “Mummy’s Thumb” because it is common after pregnancy, when repetitive lifting and caring for a baby can place extra strain on the thumb and wrist.
